Presentation Visual Design

This course is a part of the Faculty Fundamentals Training Series created for ASTRO presenters. The purpose of this course is to provide faculty with helpful guidelines on presentation visual design. Recommendations on slide, text, visuals, and multimedia design best practices are based on graphic and elearning design principles. The training provides essential evidence-researched overview of fundamental graphical design components and their effective application when information has to be visually organized on both a single slide and across slides to create a visually coherent and tailored presentation. 

Printable guidelines on how to organize content and which components are essential to include in a presentation are also included.

Target Audience

The course is created to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, medical and clinical physicists, nurses, and all other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology who present at educational events.

 

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

    • Identify the main visual design components in a presentation.
    • Evaluate the amount of content per slide, given personal predispositions and best practices in visual design.
    • Organize presentation delivery based on effective and efficient visual design of data.
    • Apply graphic and multimedia design guidelines when creating presentation slides.
