Presentation Delivery

This course is a part of the Faculty Fundamentals Training Series created for ASTRO presenters. The goal of this training is to help speakers prepare their presentations’ delivery following recommended best practices and ASTRO guidelines. It offers best practices in presentation delivery, following recommendations by subject matter experts in the field. The purpose of the training is to highlight the most appropriate approaches in preparation and presentation delivery such as personal attitude, voice and non-verbal expression, connection with the audience, means of influence, and interaction with technology.

Printable guidelines on how to organize content and which components are essential to include in a presentation are also included.

Target Audience

The course is created to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, medical and clinical physicists, nurses, and all other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology who present at educational events.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

    • Define valuable verbal and non-verbal characteristics of their role as presenters.
    • Apply best approaches before and after presentation to connect with the audience.
    • Use proper techniques to present both themselves and the content to assure effective delivery of live or recorded presentations.
