AM2018 EDU37 Elective volumes in common Head and Neck cancers-identifying nodal and non-nodal volumes at risk

In this session, we will discuss common Head and Neck cancer presentations treated with definitive/post operative radiation. We will discuss coverage of specific nodal volumes based on evidence and published guidelines. We will also discuss coverage of non-nodal regions at risk related to the primary cancer. Contours demonstrating these concepts will be discussed with attention to maximizing coverage and minimizing normal tissue toxicity. We will discuss the future course of nodal coverage with regards to upcoming clinical trials particularly focused on low risk HPV related oropharynx cancer.

Target Audience

The meeting is designed to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation physicists, radiation therapists, residents, and specialists.
