Skin
Skin cancer is the most common malignancy affecting mankind and can be associated with morbidity and mortality. It represents heterogenous disease entities demonstrating marked variation in natural history that necessitate a stage based and risk adapted treatment approach. This session reviews essential concepts in the management of cutaneous carcinoma and melanoma, highlighting relevant therapeutic advances that guide contemporary practice. The presentation focuses on the high level of evidence and studies pertaining to multidisciplinary management with special consideration of radiation therapy. Practical management issues relevant for the radiation oncologist are emphasized, including controversies, indications for treatment, technique, ongoing research and future directions.
Target Audience
The meeting is designed to meet the interests of practicing radiation oncologists, radiation oncology residents, medical and clinical physicists, radiation therapists, radiation dosimetrists, nurses and all other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology.
