Imaging of Soft Tissue Sarcoma: Pearls and Pitfalls

The purpose of this presentation is to review characteristic multimodality imaging features of soft tissue sarcoma (STS), discuss MRI imaging protocols, identify imaging features of STS that may allow for a specific diagnosis or narrow the differential diagnosis, cover potential imaging pitfalls, and discuss specific issues that may impact radiation therapy. 

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists and residents. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following: 

  • Review characteristic multimodality imaging features of soft tissue sarcoma (STS).
  • Identify imaging features of STS that may allow for a specific diagnosis, or narrow differential diagnosis prior to biopsy.
  • Cover potential imaging pitfalls of STS.
