Clinical Challenges in Radiopharmaceutical Therapy
This session focuses on practical clinical challenges in the management of patients receiving radiopharmaceutical therapies (RPT). Expert speakers discuss a broad range of common challenges related to radiation safety, renal and hematologic dysfunction, response assessment and decisions about discontinuing or holding treatment. Specific case examples complement review of published literature and guidelines.
Target Audience
This meeting was designed to meet the interests of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, physicists, nurses, diagnostic radiologists, radiation therapists, radiation dosimetrists, specialists, nuclear physicians and practice administrators.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Assess and manage renal and hematologic dysfunction during RPT.
- Assess and manage patients with complex radiation safety considerations during RPT.
- Describe potential indications for discontinuing or holding treatment with RPT.
