Advances in Endometrial Cancer

Controversy exists as to the need for surgical staging in all patients. The proper application of adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy also is a source of considerable debate. This educational session will review these controversies with special attention to the impact on patient care. The impact of adjuvant therapy on local control, survival and quality of life will be explored.

Target Audience

This continuing medical education activity is designed to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, radiation oncology residents, radiation biologists, radiation physicists, dosimetrists, oncologists working in related specialties, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses, radiation oncology administrators, diagnostic radiologists and all other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology.

Learning Objectives

After this session, attendees should be able to:

  • discuss the role of radiation therapy in early stage and advanced stage endometrial cancer.
  • explain the role of surgery and surgical staging in the management of endometrial cancer.
  • review the role of chemotherapy in the management of early and advanced stage endometrial cancer.
