Advances in Breast Cancer Management: Early Stage Disease, Post-Neoadjuvant Radiation Therapy and IMRT for Breast Cancer Treatment (PRO 01)

This activity involves three discussants using case-based presentations to review recent advances in breast cancer treatment. The first discussant addresses when to treat early stage breast cancer patients, including a review of the recent ASTRO APBI guidelines and the IDEA and Lumina 1 trial. The second discussant examines radiation therapy in the post-neoadjuvant setting, including an assessment of the NSABP B-51 results. The third discussant assesses indications and techniques for using breast IMRT.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the needs of medical oncologists and radiation oncologists.

After viewing this activity the learner should be able to:

  • Discuss treatment options for patients with early stage breast cancer and those treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy
  • Discuss indications and treatment techniques for IMRT in breast cancer patients.
