2023 Coding and Coverage Seminar - Proton Therapy and Radiopharmaceuticals

Participants will learn about the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) radiation modality and the increasing use of radiopharmaceutcials and their current code development. Codes specific to both of these modalities will be adddressed. ASTRO’s Proton Beam Therapy Model Policy will be reviewed in detail.

Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, physicists, radiation therapists, radiation dosimetrists, practice administrators, certified coders and professional coders.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the complexities associated with PBT and use of radiopharms.
- Identify and use the codes associated with each of these modalities.
- Choose code for PBT and radiopharms and understand the complexities associated with these code sets.
- Identify possible coding changes coming down the line for radiopharms.
