2022 ASTRO Annual Meeting OnDemand

2022 Annual Meeting

ASTRO’S Annual Meeting is the premier radiation oncology scientific event in the world and draws more than 11,000 attendees each year. The theme for the 2022 ASTRO Annual Meeting is “Artificial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence: Caring for the Patient in a Wireless World”. The meeting will highlight the potential of AI, Big Data and the latest scientific breakthroughs, in addition to showcasing the central role of human interaction in caring for and curing our patients.

The program will present the challenges and changes in radiation oncology practice in response to the global pandemic, approaches to serving underrepresented minority and rural patients and effective practices to reduce treatment side effects. We will emphasize on patient quality and safety issues in the delivery of radiation therapy especially advanced radiation techniques such as stereotactic body radiation therapy. The program will address the disease sites most commonly treated in radiation oncology, the equipment and software used, terminology and professional responsibilities. Program content has been designed to address specific documented and clinically important practice gaps in physician knowledge and competence including disparities and inequities in radiation oncology. There also will be increased involvement of patients and patient advocates who will provide valuable input in all aspects of the meeting.
