2020 Annual Meeting - New Patient-Focused Paradigms in Gynecologic Cancer

This course is a collection of multidisciplinary experts providing updates on research that has helped redefine practice paradigms for patient-focused individualized care in gynecological cancers. The panel consists of an EMBRACE investigator providing updates on image-guided brachytherapy techniques from their prospective international protocol, a renowned nurse clinical trialist with a focus on patient-reported outcomes providing updates on sexual health after radiotherapy, a radiation oncology expert in SBRT providing updates on the role of radiotherapy in treating oligometastatic disease in gynecological cancers, and a gynecological oncologist discussing emerging data using novel agents to treat gynecological cancers. 
 

Target Audience

The activity is designed to meet the interests of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation physicists, radiation therapists, radiation dosimetrists, nurses, radiation biologists, and radiation oncology residents. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe how sexual health can impact quality of life after radiation therapy for gynecological cancers.
  2. Determine how treatment planning and image-guidance techniques can impact outcomes in brachytherapy for cervical cancer.
  3. Explain the role of radiotherapy in the treatment of oligometastatic disease for gynecological cancers.
