Challenges in Breast Cancer Management: Recurrent Disease, Reconstruction and Hypofractionation (PRO 01)

This activity involves three discussants using case-based presentations to review challenging areas of breast cancer management. The first discussant examines the options for treating patients with recurrent breast cancer. The second discussant assesses the challenges of reconstructive surgery in patients with recurrent breast cancer. The third discussant assesses the role of post-mastectomy hypofractionation in practice, with an analysis of the RT CHARM and FABREC trials.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the needs of radiation oncologists, physicists, nurses, radiation therapists, radiation dosimetrists, residents and plastic surgeons. 

Learning Objectives

After viewing this activity the learner should be able to:

  • Discuss radiation and reconstructive surgery treatment options for patients with recurrent breast cancer.
  • Discuss indications for hypofractionated radiation in post-mastectomy patients.
