Central Nervous System

This session overviews the evolution of evidence guiding best practice for the management of central nervous system tumors, including brain metastases, gliomas, meningiomas, and the management of recurrent disease. A case-based approach is utilized, highlighting practical insights, areas of controversy and gaps in knowledge, and the newest research developments that may guide future practice.

Target Audience

The meeting is designed to meet the interests of practicing radiation oncologists, radiation oncology residents, medical and clinical physicists, radiation therapists, radiation dosimetrists, nurses and all other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:

  • Apply best evidence toward the individualized treatment of central nervous system tumors.
  • Recall and implement practical recommendations in the radiation planning of malignant and benign CNS tumors.
